War sucks

I was working this morning and happened to be listening to Dixie Chicks ...I don't care if some Bush-a-holics don't like them; I like them a LOT and bought several albums when Natalie made her 'statement'. Anyway....This morning I was listening to 'Travelin' Soldier'. That tune hits me every time I hear it. War is so insane. So much suffering, so many lives and hearts just ripped apart. Such callous disregard for humanity. UGH! When will we humans get our act together?

Oh boy, I was so completely outraged by the outrage over Natalie Maines' comments. I *hate* country music but I actually went out and bought a Dixie Chicks single in symbolic support of Maines speaking her mind. (It's a version of the Fleetwood Mac classic "Landslide" and it's really not a bad song - girl can sing.)

Heading over to friends in 20 minutes, to watch the Debate and scream at the TV. Are you following the unbelievable news about the voter registration fraud in Oregon (as well as other places)?

The (OR) Secretary of State is starting and investigation, and they apparently have multiple eye-witnesses who assert that Democrat forms were intentionally and methodically trashed. Can you say 'felony'?

I knew you could.

Cheryle: Well I kinda like country, since I got used to it by playing it all those years in the bars. And I especially like music from more intelligent folks like the Dixie Chicks!

Barry, NO, I hadn't heard about the Oregon fraud! Holy crap! But it doesn't surprise me. Bush and his ilk try to play the religion card, and then lie and cheat and KILL (Iraq) right and left ....the standard Karl Rove approach of do *anything* to win and to get what you want. What scumbags! I still have not heard a single person (literally not ONE) tell me why they support Bush, aside from a couple one-issue voters ...and these are anti-abortion folks who ignore the senseless slaughter of Iraqi citizens and the waste of our soldiers lives. And of course, then there's capital punishment, and cutting benefits to lower income folks (which also contributes to more deaths) ....It's amazed me how "pro-life" folks can ignore so many pro-death stances. I would have a lot of respect for someone who said that they were against abortion and against capital punishment, and against war ...a TRUE pro-lifer. But I have sadly never run across anyone like that.
