J2G - Slightly left of center

I've started posting on another blog. The J2G site's name is derived from "2 Jews and a Goy". Two other Tampa bloggers, Dave and Deron are the Jewish contingent, and I represent the Goyim. LOL ...I love it. My good friend Jerry used to call me "Goy" back in high school. Ahhh...good times :-)

Actually, I am also a Goy. er Gentile. Originally it was myself, Deron, and an "undisclosed third party" as the other Jew in the triad.

This individual works as a civilian consultant at CentCom, he is afraid if his true identity were revealed on a political blog, especially one that goes against the current administration, he could face repercussions at work.

And, hey, people do get fired for blogging anymore. Read the news lately?

So, truthfully it should be G2J, but we like the original name, we'll keep it.

Hey Joe & Dave! I got the invite so when I finish cleaning out the closet and polish off the last bottle of red wine I'll join the fray.

Does this mean that our office at EBS, with you, me, and Duffbert, should have been referred to as 'G2J'?

Dr Lavine, I believe that our office should have been referred to as 'SG2J' -- '2 Short Goys and a Jew' :-)

Personally, I would prefer "Ger" to Goy. Loosely interpreted as a stranger (non-Jew) that lives among, respects his/her Jewish neighbors and follows the Noahide laws. Suppose it depends on your secular perspective.

Hey madmarine, Good to hear from you! Wow, I had no idea you were 'lurking' :-) It's been a long time and I hope you and G and the 'kids' are doing well. ...Well, since I am definitely NOT very educated on the terminology, I must defer to you on Ger vs Goy. In fairness, the gents who came up with the idea for the site explained the name to me as "2 Jews and a Gentile". It was I who suggested the 'G' stand for 'Goy', thinking back to my high school pal who called me 'Goy'. I do live among and respect those of many faiths and philosophies, so perhaps it is best to let the 'G' represent whatever is most appropriate. Heck, I really don't care what folks call me, and DO enjoy getting educated. I am hereby a Ger.

Yep, it's me. Been lurking for awhile. As you probably know, or remember, I'm almost as rabid on my side as you are on your's. Didn't want to post in that vein. Complete waste of time. Nobody will get their minds changed at this point. Just best of luck to all and hope for a victory on either side outside the margin. :)

Ger, Goy, what the hey, shalom!
