Hurricane Toasting

HurricanetoastToday is officially the last day of the hurricane season for 2004. So we're lifting our glasses (Hurricanes, of course) to Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne ...good riddance! Sheesh, our first year in Florida and it turns out to set records for the quantity and severity of hurricanes. Oh well, the weather is awesome now!

Tom: Sunscreen. I know that's foreign to you in Portland. We discovered it down here. Apparently in places where it doesn't rain all day every day, there is a bright, round object in the sky that shines light and feels warm. But it can sometimes make one feel TOO warm. So one must get some "sunscreen" to screen the sun from one's skin. It seems this bright round object is called "sun". I think I saw it once in Portland a long time ago.

The 'Sun' - of course - now I remember. Thanks.

You guys are obviously enjoying yourselves far too much, but that drink does look quite delicious.

>>>rain all day every day<<<

LOL!!! You just keep telling people that, okay? Traffic is bad enough as it is. :)

It's nice out once it warms up, but it's actually a little chilly. I had to turn my heat on! Brrr!

Cheryle: I'm trying to do my part to keep the influx down for you up there in Portland. There's a singer and autoharp virtuoso (Bryan Bowers) from the NW who put out a tune years ago including the lines:"Out on the highway, we tell all the turkeysYes it's always raining and the sun never shines..."Some well placed exaggeration can be useful.

Sarah: Wow! You must be a Florida native if you turned on the heat :) I'll admit we did use a blanket last night, but the windows are open. The air is great!
