Getting used to Florida

Well, we've got our Florida driver licenses now, we're all registered to vote (that may be interesting ;-) ...and in general we're settling in to life in the Sunshine State. Some aspects of the area, however, will take a little longer to accept:

I grew up in the Boston area with very strict "Blue Laws"(http://www.state.ma.us/dlwd/bluelaws.html), which said that you could only buy alcohol at liquor stores and certainly never on a Sunday. I remember my shock when arriving at Fort Knox Kentucky at the age of 18 to find that there were such things as "dry counties" where you could not buy any alcohol, yet the next county over actually had drive-thru liquor stores where you could get mixed drinks served in plastic cups at the window.

:-) Yup, it's weird. I haven't been through this drive through liquor joint, so I don't know if they serve DRINKS ....OMG! That is NOT what we need. There's enough drunks on the road as it is.

(That said, I *did* enjoy my margarita last night, so I am certainly not dry :-)
