Taking Down Lights

Yesterday was January 1, 2006. New Year's Day is when we typically take down the holiday decorations. Back in Washington state, that often meant bundling up for the cold rain - a rather miserable affair. Here in the Tampa Florida area, that meant slathering on sunscreen, wrapping my bald dome with a couple of bandanas to catch the sweat, and working amidst the blooming hibiscus bushes :)

Tim,Elevation: If you head up north towards Gainesville you will hit the mountains of Florida (ok, tiny hills, but at least it's something). For that matter, you could just pop north a little bit to Zephyrhills.Why move: Rain. 9 months a year of slow, steady rain. It didn't bother me too much, but others in the household had a tougher time of it. And after I got laid off a few years ago, we wanted to be somewhere with a stronger economy.BTW...Awesome pics you have there on your site!
