Bush relatives for Kerry

My son told us today about the Bush Relatives for Kerry site. From their home page:

"Bush Relatives for Kerry" grew out of a series of conversations that took place between a group of people that have two things in common: they are all related to George Walker Bush, and they are all voting for John Kerry. As the election approaches, we feel it is our responsibility to speak out about why we are voting for John Kerry, and to do our small part to help America heal from the sickness it has suffered since George Bush was appointed President in 2000. We invite you to read our stories, and please, don't vote for our cousin!
Bush Relatives for Kerry is worth taking a few minutes to read. I especially suggest that any who think of Bush as a religious or moral man read what Jeanny House writes on the site (about halfway down on the home page).

So much about insurance does not make sense

Insurance is one of those weird things where you only win when you lose. And we pay money for it. Today I was meeting with our insurance guy ...I'm getting ready to switch life insurance. He mentioned something about one type of policy and brought up the "Accelerated Death Benefit".

That doesn't sound like a benefit.

OK, I'm a little tight on time, but I have posted some pics from the second Tampa Bay Blogger Fest! Many thanks to Mr. Bill of SOHOTampa for being such a fantastic tour guide. 1. MacDinton's (405 S Howard Ave)
  2. HoHo's Chinese (533 S Howard Ave)
  3. 717 (717 S Howard Ave)
  4. 42nd Street Bistro (516 S Howard)
  5. Po'Boys (2216 W Platt St)
  6. Mangrove's (208 S Howard Ave)
  7. The Dubliner (2307 W Azeele St)

Still think Bush won't start up the draft?

This president has been following a policy of "say anything" throughout his presidency (and before), so I do not for one minute believe him when he says he will not institute a draft. Bush has a history of misleading. Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan expressed it quite succinctly in this brief speech. Plenty of detail and references are on the Frequently Asked Questions page at EnjoyTheDraft. The site's home page is satirical, but the FAQ is real info, and the links are very worth following. Nation-building takes troops. Helping Halliburton rebuild Iraq again (Halliburton had revenues of $73 million from services and supplies rebuilding Iraq after Desert Storm) takes troops. It's not at all pleasant, but if Bush is allowed to continue his current mismanaged and misguided policies, there will be a military draft...only this time it will be men and women, and there won't be any college deferments. Follow the links and read.
